(CONTRARY TO POPULAR BELIEF)
THERE’S MORE TO ME THAN JUST BEING A DESIGNER
I’m a born-and-raised California man who grew up finding ways to create. From doodling in math class to writing comic books with my friends, my imagination was working 24/7. This peaked in high school with a very important teacher to me seeing the talent that I had and encouraging me to pursue artistic creation full-time. I was daunted, scared, and nervous for my bank account, but I knew that she was right. One college degree and 3+ years of full-time experience later, I know that there is nothing else that I’d want to be doing with my life than making stuff that sticks.
However, design is not my only passion in this life. I love quality time with my friends, be it one of them getting married (see above!) or just hanging out on the couch on a Wednesday night. I love getting outside — a walk around my neighborhood, laying on the beautiful beaches of Los Angeles, or even a hike when I’m feeling extra motivated. I love rock climbing and bowling; both challenge me to use my body in unique ways and embrace a different sort of problem-solving.
I have a ton of creative energy that seeps into everything that I do. No matter if I’m behind a keyboard or in front of a sloper route at the gym, the desire to think out of the box stays with me everywhere I go.
Howdy!
I'm a recent graduate of Cal Poly San Luis Obispo with a BFA in Art and Design and a concentration of graphic design. I’m currently working as a graphic designer for RPM Living, the third largest multifamily property manager in the United States. I am based out of their corporate Phoenix office along with the majority of the creative team (and marketing at large) that I work with on a day-to-day basis.
However! I still hold plenty of other interests within the graphic design world. I love everything from illustration to website design to even more niche sectors like environmental design. Not to pat myself on the back, but I consider my versatility as a designer one of my strong suits. There’s nothing wrong being a jack-of-all-trades—companies in 2024 have a lot of different needs, and I consider myself properly equipped to handle whatever challenge is thrown my way.
If you can’t tell by now, my main love in the world of graphic design is branding. I love creating brands from scratch, figuring out the message of a brand, giving a brand new life via a reworked logo, or simply working within an established brand and finding new ways to elevate what’s already there. My love for graphic design stretches far and wide, but nothing gets me more excited as a designer than getting to sit down with a company and figuring out their branding needs.
Last, but certainly not least, I have many interests outside of graphic design itself! I think the key to being a good graphic designer is engaging with the world that exists outside of our MacBooks and Creative Cloud suites. When I’m not working, catch me indoor bouldering, bowling, watching basketball games with my buddies, obsessing over my fantasy football league that I’m bound to lose, or just relaxing and enjoying a nice glass of cheap wine.
